I have worked with Guy Retallack three times. First playing a title role in Thrill Me UK Tour and again two years later in A Christmas Carol More or Less and then again in TWO by Jim Cartwright. I can only hope that I get to work with this phenomenal director again in my career. When one works with Guy, you just know you're in for a treat. He has a real natural ability to mine text and analyse it creating a deep understanding for his actors and himself. He persists in bringing out the very best in the actors he works with and if something doesn't work he will stop at nothing to find 'it'. I believe as an actor who has worked both in T.V and Theatre that it is very rare one meets and works with a director who captains his ship so seemingly effortlessly. Guy does just that. He is the heart and soul of the rehearsal room and makes you feel so comfortable with the work in hand. He has this unique ability to just let you feel free to bring a piece of text to life and from rehearsal room to stage. Some of my most treasured moments as an actor so far are when working with him, and for those moments I shall forever be grateful.
