I am a New York based Broadway actress who is very much acquainted with the ups and downs of the auditioning process and the intrinsic uncertainty and second-guessing therein. Despite the Atlantic Ocean (at times) being between us, I still seek Guy Retallack’s compelling communication style and artistic guidance above local coaches. Put simply, I feel in all sincerity, that I and my friends would book more jobs if we could work with him all of the time. In other words, my *batting average* would go up one hundred points. A quality which can otherwise be otherwise difficult to access in the auditioning process. I was trained at New York University in the *Classical* (Shakespeare) studio. One of the most significant lessons my favourite Shakespeare professor taught us was to cultivate the skill of being the type of actor *you want in the room*. That is to say, bring a focus and energy that is both relational and ultra present no matter what is going on personally. This, of course, applies to people you choose to entrust your work with.
